Test-Optional Schools

What is a test-optional school?

Some students just are not good test takers but they have other strengths to offer colleges.  More and more colleges are deciding to go test-optional.  Basically, this means they do not request SAT/ACT scores or they do not weigh them as heavily in the admissions process.  Be sure to research these schools carefully to determine what they require in lieu of admissions tests.  For example, some may require an interview, others an additional essay.  Consider their optional requirements as an opportunity to showcase your strengths.  The link below will take you to the Fair Test website where you can learn more about these colleges.
