On June 26, 2014, FMHS graduated its first class!  Students and families of the Class of 2014, 94% of whom first came to FMHS  on our first day in September 2010, convened at New York Academy of Medicine to celebrate a personal and community milestone.  Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer spoke about the inception of the school and celebrated several key community members who were in attendance and helped make the school a reality.  Ellen McCourt addressed the graduates and shared some lessons Frank McCourt relied on as a teacher.

Almost all the graduates are headed to college this fall with a few opting to try military service and work.  College bound members of the class of 2014 earned more than $1.5 million in scholarship offerings and will be attending CUNY, SUNY and private colleges from Vermont to Virgina including the University of Pennsylvania, Ursinus College, Fordham University, Boston University, Syracuse University, SUNY Purchase, CUNY City College and many more.
